Vegan Potstickers – In support of – also our challenge, I made these vegan pan fried dumplings filled with: tofu, shiitake, carrots, cabbage and aromatics of chinese chives, garlic, ginger and sesame oil! You know its a good sub when the person eating it (my mum) remarks “I like the meat filling”, without realizing it’s actually meat-free lol! Used justonecookbook ‘s gyoza recipe (which was David Chang-approved haha) as the guide. Pleated dumplings for the first time and it’s such a delicate process which im not used to … guess that’s where the lacy-crispy finish comes in handy for covering up my poor pleating skills haha. Was a fun challenge and honestly, veg seasoned properly can be delicious too!
